Patients queue outside for eye testing
Latest diagnostic equipment on board
In November 2006 Impact introduced its first Lifeline Express Mobile Clinic (LLEMC), a Diagnostic Van. School children with eye and ear impairments, are shortlisted by their peers who are School Health Monitors and Teachers trained under the Government's School Health programme in early detection of disabilities.
The LLEMCs travel to far-off padas (hamlets) located in distant villages, poorly connected by road and transport, to test villagers - particularly for vision and hearing disability. Impact India's LLE Mobile Clinics are fully equipped to diagnose vision and hearing impairment. Today IIF operates three Lifeline Express Mobile Clinics (LLEMCs) in the CHI and two more are outsourced for outreach in rural areas of Maharashtra State.
